Internet Settings

Open the Control Panel and choose Network and Internet Connections.

   
Choose Internet Options.
   

Choose the Connections tab.

 

Make sure Never dial a connection is selected.

 

Click on the LAN Settings... button.
   

Automatically detect settings may or may not be checked, and won't cause a problem either way.

If the others are checked, you will not be able to get onto the network!

Click on OK in all open windows to apply these settings, but do not restart your computer yet!
