CONSORTIUM BORROWING REGULATIONS
A member of a college/university community, who is currently registered or employed at an ACLCP, Oberlin, or PALCI member school, may borrow materials from the library. The prospective ACLCP patron may register for an account at the library circulation desk by filling out a registration card and presenting a valid photo school identification card (a college ID without photo will be accepted if accompanied by a photo driver’s license). Oberlin and PALCI consortia members will be required to submit a completed authorization form from their home library.
The borrowing privilege is for one year or until graduation whichever comes first. The loan period for books, scores, and government documents is 28 days. Borrowers may take out 6 items at a time. Borrowers may not borrow Audio and Visual materials.
Because the library exists primarily for the use of Dickinson’s students and faculty, we reserve the right to recall a book when necessary. Please return the items within 24 hours of receiving the Recall Notice. Replacement charges may be assessed if the item is not returned within 48 hours.
The library charges 25 cents per day for an overdue book. Books not returned after 14 day of being due will be considered lost. You will be billed replacement plus processing costs ($100.00) through your home institution. You may not borrow additional items until all overdue books have been returned and charges have been paid and/or cleared. The borrower’s member library is not responsible for fine payments. Fines must be paid at the Circulation Desk in the Waidner- Spahr Library by check or cash.
Responsibility: You are responsible for all books checked out on your card. The card must be presented to borrow.
Interlibrary Loan: ILL services are not available to Consortium borrowers.
Public Computers: There are two public computers located on the Circulation Desk on the main floor of the library. The library’s on-line catalog, databases and the internet may be accessed from these computers.
Laser Printing Fee: There is a charge of 10 cents per side printed. A double-sided page is charged 20 cents. A color printer is available at a charge of 20 cents per side printer. Printouts may be picked up and paid for at the Circulation Desk.
Digital Microform Readers: In order to use the digital microform readers in the information commons you must see a supervisor at the circulation desk or ask the lower level service desk attendant to assist you with login. Laser printing fees will apply.
